"Making it (really) real for our Stockport community"

Healthwatch Stockport and Stockport Council join forces to bring a community focused health and social care event

Together with Stockport Council, Healthwatch Stockport are hosting a 'Making it Real' conference on Wednesday 31 July at Stockport's Masonic Guildhall - a free event open to the public and health professionals alike.

Healthwatch Stockport will highlight their top priorities for 2024 – 2025, with the aim of helping to change the face of local health and social care. It follows extensive feedback and engagement with the people of Stockport over the last 12 months through events, meetings, surveys and so much more.

As Healthwatch said: "You said, we're doing!"

Chief officer Maria Kildunne said: "At Healthwatch, our remit covers both health and social care for children and adults, making community feedback crucial. Our small team, with the support of our valuable members, work tirelessly to tap into what matters most to people when it comes to using health and care services.

"I'm so pleased to be working collaboratively with our colleagues in the Council's Adult Social Care Team to ensure people are at the heart of all we do"

Through the Making It Real Board and other local partnerships, the event will also prove a 'fantastic' opportunity to hear from people with lived experience, such as Hannah Cummings, the Making It Real Board Co-chair who've been involved in shaping new ways of working and how new services are delivered in Adult Social Care.

Sarah Dillion, Director of Adult Social Care will be co-hosting the event along with her team and we'll be hearing from Will Pett, Head of Public Policy at Healthwatch England.

On the day you can expect to hear the exciting plans afoot, how you can get involved and how Healthwatch Stockport will continue to champion the best possible care for our Stockport Community.

To attend this 'not to be missed' event, book your place with the Healthwatch Stockport team.
