This is an exciting opportunity to work with the UK's leading MRO provider and play a key role in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex aircraft maintenance inputs.Role OverviewAs a Project Lead, you will be instrumental in managing aircraft maintenance checks from a project and cost management perspective. Working closely with internal departments, suppliers, and customers, you will ensure that all inputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest operational standards.Job PurposeThe Project Lead supports the Check Management Team by building and maintaining detailed project plans, tracking milestones, managing costs, and preparing internal and external reports. This role demands proactive coordination, financial oversight, and strong stakeholder communication.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Planning Department to develop detailed project plans for scheduled maintenance inputs
- Highlight and communicate key milestones and critical paths to all stakeholders and departments
- Review and action the maintenance contract brief, ensuring all third-party requirements are documented and tracked
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the project timeline
- Support the Check Management Team by ensuring appropriate resource and tooling allocations
- Attend daily production meetings to provide project updates and maintain customer relationships
- Communicate and escalate customer feedback to internal teams for resolution
- Monitor man-hour bookings and third-party costs; report discrepancies to management for correction
- Maintain accurate and current project plans and daily status reports
- Identify and communicate potential risks to aircraft delivery timelines, and present recovery plans as required
- Ensure customer technical representatives are informed of over-and-above tasks and obtain agreement on additional hours
- Report all commercial and financial risks to operations and commercial leadership for resolution
- Host post-project "wash-up" meetings to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
- Proven experience in project management within an aviation or MRO environment
- Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance processes and input coordination
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills
- Experience in resource and cost tracking for technical operations
- Comfortable interfacing with both internal stakeholders and external customers
- Ability to proactively manage risks and develop mitigation plans
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project planning tools preferred
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom is required
