Skilled Joiner
To produce high-quality bespoke joinery and solid surface products, including kitchen and bathroom components, with precision and attention to detail. The role involves working with Corian and other solid-surface materials, interpreting technical drawings, and programming CNC machinery to achieve exceptional craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will combine outstanding technical ability with a strong work ethic, teamwork, and pride in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture bespoke joinery, furniture, and solid-surface components to exact specifications.
- Work primarily with Corian, as well as timber, laminates, MDF, and other materials.
- Cut, shape, join, and finish products to a high standard, maintaining precision and aesthetic quality.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, CAD models, and templates.
- Undertake fabrication, edge finishing, sanding, bonding, and polishing of solid surfaces.
- Create and adjust CNC programs to achieve desired design outputs.
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery for joinery and solid-surface fabrication.
- Ensure tooling, feeds, and speeds are optimised for quality and efficiency.
- Check first-off components and adjust where necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Ensure machinery, tools, and equipment are used safely and maintained correctly.
- Collaborate with design, installation, and production teams to meet project deadlines.
- Support process improvements and contribute to a positive workshop culture.
- Inspect all products for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and finish consistency.
- Ensure all work meets client and company standards for craftsmanship and durability.
- Proactively identify and correct potential quality issues before completion.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience as a Skilled Joiner, Cabinet Maker, or Solid Surface Fabricator.
- Skilled in fabrication and finishing of Corian and other solid-surface materials.
- CNC Programming experience essential.
- Biesse machinery experience beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD designs.
- Competent with workshop tools, machines, and finishing equipment.
- Strong understanding of joinery methods, materials, and adhesives.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in high-quality joinery or solid-surface fabrication.
- Recognised qualification in Joinery, Carpentry, or similar trade (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Proven portfolio of bespoke work (photographic or physical).
- Health & Safety awareness and understanding of workshop best practices.
- Workshop-based, with occasional site visits or installations as required.
- Use of machinery, power tools, and hand tools daily.
Pay up to £20 per hour.
38.5 hours per week.
