Refuge Caseworker

Red Snapper Recruitment are currently recruiting a part time refuge caseworker for a client of ours based within the Stockport area. As part of this role, the successful candidate will be based in refuge and responsible for providing high quality practical and emotional support to ensure individuals who have experienced domestic abuse have the foundations to live free from fear. Please note for this role it is essential you have an enhanced DBS on the update service. Location: Stockport Salary: 14,041.20 (pro rata of 24,739.26 FTE) Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week Contract type: Temporary, 3 months Main duties:
- To enable individuals and families who require temporary refuge accommodation to stay safe, develop and maintain positive relationships that promote their wellbeing, and prevent, reduce or delay their need to access statutory services.
- Work holistically with individuals who may have complex and multiple needs, deliver interventions to help build upon existing personal strengths and support networks to enhance resilience.
- To facilitate a support plan that is SMART in application and act as a lead professional to co-ordinate interventions where required. Maintaining and updating records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Deliver and motivate individuals to act upon general advice and navigation towards community-based support services.
- To identify and manage risk issues and carry out relevant risk assessments, such as MARAC, to safeguard individuals and their children.
- Abide by Health and Safety regulations and take responsibility for own safety and that of individuals, colleagues and visitors.
- To continually reflect on your own professional performance through participation in regular supervision sessions and Personal Development Reviews.
Person specification:
- A knowledge and understanding of issues relating to domestic abuse.
- Experience of working with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse.
- Experience of holding a multiple caseload and providing or arranging services appropriate to need.
- Experience of creating, recording and implementing outcome-focused support plans.
- Experience of enabling individuals with a broad range of issues to recognise assets and build resilience.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding issues. Experience of assessing, working with and managing risk appropriately.
- Enhanced DBS on update service.
