A must for all Stockport history enthusiasts, appreciators of architecture and more, this walking tour will feature an in-depth look at the history of Stockport's architecture.

The walk starts at the Plaza, Mersey Square. Four walks will take place across two weeks:

  • Sunday 10 September: 11.00am and 2pm
  • Saturday 16 September: 11.00am and 2pm.

A description for this event reads: "Discover why Stockport looks like it does with our town centre walking tour. Join us to learn how local industry, town planning, and ideas about modernism shaped Stockport.

"Take a trip through 100 years of Stockport's architectural history, from the creation of Merseyway to the newest buildings in the town's redevelopment. Commercial and civic buildings past and present. Charting the ups and downs of industry and culture, up and down the town's topography."
