A giant event between two communities to close out 2026, the GO Wild: Rocket Takeover sees the Team Rocket group take over both Stockport and Doncaster in the search for new recruits!

A seasoned community used to hosting large-scale events, Stockport is the ideal place to GO this GO Wild Area. Featuring a numerous, dense cluster of gyms, Pokestops and Power Spots, Stockport has become a premier location in the UK for Pokémon GO. With an active player community regularly seeing turnout in the hundreds, a fully pedestrianised playing area featuring weather shelter and easy transit links, plus high concentrations of Pokémon spawns, Stockport truly punches above its weight.

In this Takeover, help Team Rocket defeat and secure GMAX Duraludon, DMAX Palkia and DMAX Dialga. You can earn Grunt-status by completing activities and tasks throughout the weekend, with a special few earning the right to become Leaders. There will be free, exclusive merchandise and pins to win, plus plenty of opportunity to meet and play with a dedicated local community.

Do you think you have what it takes to become a Grunt? RSVP to GO Wild: Rocket Takeover, dress for the occasion and join us on Viaduct Park. Find out why Stockport is the place to GO.
