Well, it may have been a bit rainy, but it didn't deter anyone.

Sunday 17 November saw Stockport's 'Spectacular Sunday' event; a Pennine carnival which brought hundreds of performers to the town centre for a huge range of free shows.

And for this attraction, the town centre saw an 80% increase in footfall compared to an average Sunday, with shops similarly reporting a 30% increase in sales.

A spokesperson for the Merseyway Shopping Centre described the event as 'a huge success', with thousands of extra visitors to the town centre.

Visitors were treated to live music, a carnival procession, comedy, costumed performers, and much more.
