Crime statistics from Neighbourhood Watch reveal that theft and vehicle crime continue to account for most incidents across the borough, with burglary and shoplifting also contributing.

The organisation collects crime data from police forces across the Stockport area each week, although the latest data for each area varies.

Cheadle Hulme and Heald Green witnessed an almost threefold increase in the number of incidents since the last batch of statistics.

Meanwhile, the Marple, High Lane and Marple Bridge beat had no incidents. A spokesperson for Neighbourhood Watch said: "I personally cannot ever remember that being the case for a full set of beats."

The town centre again saw the highest number of incidents (43).

The latest data for the 'central beats' comes from 4 June.

  • The town centre saw 43 incidents, including three assaults, six ASBs and a number of thefts, shoplifting incidents, criminal damage, and vehicle crime.
  • Cheadle Heath, Adswood and Edgeley collectively saw 21 incidents, of a similar type and proportion to the town centre.
  • Brinnington and Lancashire Hill saw seven incidents: four thefts, two burglaries and one count of vehicle crime.

Latest data for the Heatons and Reddish comes from 22-28 May.

  • The Heatons saw nine incidents: six thefts (half of which took place on Georges Road) and three vehicle crimes.
  • Reddish saw eight incidents: six vehicle crimes, a burglary and bicycle theft.

Latest data for Bramhall and Cheadle comes from 22-28 May.

  • Cheadle Hulme and Heald Green saw 25 incidents, a large increase from the nine reported in the preceding batch of statistics. All were either theft (14), burglary (four) or vehicle crime (seven).
  • Cheadle and Gatley saw a lower number of incidents, but in a similar ratio; four thefts, one burglary, and three counts of vehicle crime.
  • Bramhall and Woodford again saw the highest proportion of burglaries, accounting for six out of ten incidents. The others involved two thefts and two counts of vehicle crime.

Latest data for Hazel Grove and Marple comes from 4 June.

  • Offerton, Stepping Hill and Hazel Grove saw one residential burglary, one business and community burglary, five vehicle offences and one robbery.
  • Marple, High Lane and Marple Bridge recorded no incidents in this period.
  • Werneth saw seven incidents: one residential burglary, two personal robberies and four counts of vehicle offences.
