STS Aviation Services is experiencing rapid growth, and we're looking for dedicated Lead Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our expanding team in Manchester, United Kingdom.Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervision of a team of sheet metal workers, ensuring fine tolerances and high standards are accomplished at all times.
  • Reporting to the B1 Engineer and agreeing on the relevant inspection phases throughout a task.
  • Removal and installation of minor and major aircraft structural components, in accordance with approved documentation and complying with the aircraft's standard practice procedures.
  • Assisting your team with access of the relevant tooling, spares and equipment to complete the set tasks.
  • Manage and monitor bookings on task cards, highlighting any possible over-runs or required adjustments.
  • Ensure you and your team work safely with regarding to Health and Safety, COSHH and company procedures.
Skills & Experience Requirements
  • Completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship, production or Live aircraft.
  • Ideally 5 years aircraft and structures/repairs experience.
  • Demonstratable experience in aircraft modification/production/maintenance in a Part 145 MRO environment.
  • Able to supervise sheet metal workers
  • Experienced and capable of reading and understanding manufacturers drawings and SRMs.
  • Excellent hand skills.
  • Takes full ownership and responsibility for own tasks.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good communicator.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
