Skilled Wireman 6 Month Fixed Term Contract - Stockport

The Company

Our client builds complex control panels for the aerospace and defence industries. They have an exciting opportunity for a Skilled Wireperson to join a busy, fast-paced team working on many interesting and rewarding projects.

The Job

The role involves:

  • Small mechanical assemblies
  • Looming and routing of single core cables, e.g. 30awg 12awg
  • Use of crimp tools and being able to identify which tool is correct for the crimp
  • Connector terminations RF, data, power, semi-rigid (forming and termination)
  • Multi-pin connectors (e.g. 15-way d-type), including EMC protection
  • Basic cabling connector to connector 15 way or less basic looming 10 wires and less, basic soldering (d-type) connectors, crimping of ring crimp
  • Slip rings, cables with junctions, splices (soldered and crimped), solder sleeves, connector up to 55 way, multi-core cables crimping with DMC, Huber + Suhner, Molex style of pliers
  • Rack assemblies with fixed units, wiring basic racks, RF wiring, fibre optic wiring
  • Assembly and wiring of racks with withdrawable units, fitting of waveguide connectors
  • Development of first-off racks and cabling

About You

An experienced Wirer with a good mix of the following skills and experience;

  • Have the ability to interpret complex schematics and engineering drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Time-served experience is desirable
  • IPC 610/620 and J-Std qualifications are desirable

Benefits & Hours

  • £30000 - £35000
  • 37-hour working week. Flexi time between 7am and 4pm (4.5 day week)
