General Operative / Material Handler (Steel) Permanent Position We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our team in the heavy industry / steel sector. Previous experience within the steel industry is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities
- Handle the movement, loading, and unloading of steel plates and coils, using Overhead Cranes (OHC) and Forklift Trucks (FLT).
- Perform quality checks to ensure all materials meet required standards.
- Work towards meeting daily production targets efficiently.
- Maintain Health & Safety standards at all times.
- Proven experience operating Forklift Trucks (FLT) and Overhead Cranes (OHC).
- Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Capable of managing workload to meet deadlines.
- Rotating shifts: 6:00am 2:00pm and 2:00pm 10:00pm.
- Shift times may vary based on production demands.
- During peak periods, extended shifts (e.g., 6:00am 6:00pm or 6:00pm 6:00am) may be required.
- Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the business.
- Conscientious, reliable, and motivated.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Safety-aware and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Knowledge of 5S workplace organisation.
