CNC Operator-Perm-Greater Manchester

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the Greater Manchester area, is seeking a motivated CNC Operator to join their team. The role requires a strong focus on safety and adherence to 5S standards.

Role Overview of the CNC Operator:

• Operate and set up 3-axis CNC routers for 2D sheet metal component production

• Experience with cutting aluminium materials, VWM/Technos 38 machines, and the OSAI CNC controller is highly advantageous but not essential

• Support 5-axis machining operations including fixture and jig setup, tool datum setting, with knowledge of CMS machines being a plus

• Operate CNC punch machines, including tool and machine setup for materials ranging from 0.6mm to 2mm thickness, preferably using Amada machines with Fanuc controllers

• Extensive use of OSAI controllers for both 3-axis and 5-axis machines is a key requirement; Fanuc controller experience with punch machines is also beneficial

• Perform tool changes and precise setting of machines to ensure production quality

• Exposure to CAD/CAM software such as Radan, Alpha-CAM, and Catia V5 is desirable, though not essential

Skills/requirements of the CNC Operator:

• Proven commitment to working safely within a manufacturing environment

• Familiarity with 5S methodology and its application on the shop floor

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain high standards of quality

• Willingness to learn and develop skills, especially with OSAI CNC systems
