This role does not offer sponsorship.Job Overview:Aspire People are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in the Reddish area of Stockport to recruit an enthusiastic and compassionate Youth Coach to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time, term-time only role, ideal for individuals with a background in sports coaching, youth work, or behaviour mentoring, and a strong passion for working with young people with special educational needs and social, emotional and behavioural challenges.The Role:As a Youth Coach, you will take on a dual role as a SEN / Behaviour Mentor and Sports Coach, supporting children and young people aged 5-18 who require an individualised, therapeutic and structured approach to learning and development.Your responsibilities will include:- Delivering engaging, accessible physical education sessions that build teamwork, confidence, and resilience.- Supporting students with a wide range of additional needs including ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and emotional trauma.- Providing 1:1 and small group mentoring to help students develop social and emotional coping strategies.- Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to help manage behaviour and promote positive development.- Acting as a positive role model and advocate for pupils who may be facing significant life challenges or have experienced disrupted education.About the Setting:The school is a specialist provision for pupils who have not been able to thrive in mainstream education due to their complex needs. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and benefit from tailored support in a small, nurturing and highly structured environment.Many of the young people you'll support face a combination of learning difficulties, communication challenges, and emotional or behavioural difficulties. Pupils may also be affected by serious social issues or unstable home lives, and as such, a calm, consistent and empathetic approach is essential in this role.Who We're Looking ForWe are keen to hear from individuals who have:- Experience working with young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs.- A background in sport, coaching, physical education, youth mentoring, or behaviour support.- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.- A patient, resilient, and empathetic nature.- The ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.- Relevant qualifications in sport, education or youth work are desirable but not essential your commitment and attitude are what count most.What's in It for You:- A full-time, permanent role with a salary of 21,563.28 per annum.
