Educational Support Worker - Specialist SEND Provision Location: Stockport, Manchester Salary: .00 per day (dependent on payroll selection) Contract: Full-time, Long-Term Start Date: Immediate start available

Support Learners with Special Educational Needs in a Compassionate, Structured Environment

Simply Education is looking to appoint a committed and empathetic Educational Support Worker to work in a specialist SEND school in the Stockport area. The setting supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Global Development Delay (GDD), communication challenges, and associated social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to pupils with complex SEND profiles Adapt learning materials and activities under teacher direction to suit individual learning styles Support students with personal development, communication, and emotional regulation Help implement EHCP targets and individual support strategies across the school day Assist with transitions, sensory breaks, and structured play to promote calm and engagement Work closely with SENCOs, class teachers, therapists, and external agencies Maintain high levels of safeguarding, safety, and positive behaviour throughout the day

Person Specification

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, including Autism, speech and language needs, or cognitive delay Knowledge of SEND strategies, such as PECS, Makaton, sensory integration, or visual timetables (desirable) A calm, patient, and understanding approach with a focus on consistency and structure

Familiarity with or interest in trauma-informed and person-centred practice Strong emotional resilience and the ability to manage complex behaviour professionally Relevant qualifications in education, child development, psychology, or health and social care (desirable but not essential) A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs
