Role: Outreach Teacher

Location: Reddish Hall School, Stockport SK5 6UY

Salary: From £33,000.00 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Outreach Teacher to join our close-knit team at Reddish Hall School, part of Acorn Education.

About the role

The Outreach Teacher at Reddish Hall School plays a crucial role in supporting pupils who require bespoke timetables or at-home learning arrangements to meet their specific needs. This position is essential in engaging pupils who are not yet fully "classroom ready" and need individualised support to re-enter the learning environment. The Outreach Teacher works collaboratively with subject leads, the SEND team, and the wider therapy and pastoral staff to create engaging, meaningful learning opportunities that address each pupil's social, emotional, and academic needs.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

The Outreach Teacher will be responsible for promoting the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at Reddish Hall School. This includes:

  • Working in line with the school's safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and other relevant professionals to ensure the best interests of pupils are prioritised
  • Reporting any concerns about a pupil's safety or welfare to the DSL in a timely manner
  • Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practises
  • Participating in regular safeguarding training to ensure knowledge and skills are current
  • Promoting a culture of vigilance and a safe learning environment for all pupils

Who we are looking for

  • Proven experience of leading and delivering to small groups, with evidence of excellent pupil progress
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND, particularly those with challenging behaviours
  • Relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience, with a desire to work across all relevant key stages

Candidate must drive and have access to own vehicle - mileage expense provided.
