We are currently recruiting for a Paver to join our civil engineering and highways contractor on an ongoing project in Stockport. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and a hands-on approach to work on a long-term project.

Paver Job Details:

  • Location: Stockport
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 07 30
  • Rate: Competitive, depending on experience

Paver Key Responsibilities:

  • Lay paving sets according to project specifications and designs
  • Prepare the ground by excavating and levelling surfaces to create a stable foundation
  • Mix and apply mortar or adhesive for secure placement of paving materials
  • Ensure correct alignment and spacing of pavers and slabs during installation
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on existing paved surfaces as needed
  • Collaborate with other trades on site, including masons, carpenters, and roofers, to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations

Paver Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience using hand and power tools relevant to paving and groundwork
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Previous experience in paving is advantageous but not essential

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid CSCS card
  • Own tools and PPE
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team
